Cette trousse est conçue comme une ressource pour les éducatrices et les éducateurs de la 3e à la 5e année du Nouveau-Brunswick qui souhaitent offrir à leurs élèves des occasions d’en apprendre davantage sur l’environnement, les espèces en péril et les façons d’agir concrètement pour protéger la nature, grâce à des activités amusantes et expérientielles qui s’intègrent au programme d’études du Nouveau-Brunswick.
Cette trousse comprend une série d’activités qui abordent l’identification des oiseaux communs du Nouveau-Brunswick, leur histoire naturelle, leur migration ainsi que des récits de conservation. Elle comprend également des ressources permettant à votre classe de passer à l’action pour aider les oiseaux en contribuant des observations à des projets de science citoyenne.
Les activités de cette trousse peuvent être réalisées à l’intérieur, dans un espace approprié, mais elles sont encore plus enrichissantes lorsqu’elles sont réalisées à l’extérieur, en pleine nature. Faire sortir vos élèves leur permet non seulement de se rapprocher de l’habitat naturel de ces espèces, mais le fait d’être à l’extérieur présente également des bienfaits démontrés pour le bien-être physique et émotionnel.
Les jeux peuvent être réalisés dans la cour d’école, dans un champ ou une prairie à proximité. Les activités créatives et d’écriture peuvent également être réalisées à l’extérieur en apportant des planchettes à pince, du matériel d’écriture et de coloriage, puis en installant les élèves dans un espace d’observation individuel (« sit spot ») ou dans une classe extérieure. Des coussins de sol individuels sont parfaits pour permettre aux élèves de s’asseoir confortablement et de créer une salle de classe n’importe où.
Les trousses seront envoyés aux classes par la fin Octobre.
Overview
This kit is designed as a resource for Grade 3-5 educators in New Brunswick who want to provide opportunities to their students to learn about the environment, species at risk and taking hands-on action for nature, through fun, experiential activities that integrate with the New Brunswick curriculum.
This kit includes a series of activities that cover how to identify common birds of New Brunswick, their natural history, migration, conservation stories, as well as the resources for your classroom to take action to help birds by contributing observations to community science projects.
The activities in this kit can be done inside with the appropriate space, but are best served by going outside in nature. Taking your students outside can not only allow students to connect with the natural habitat of these species but being outside has demonstrable benefits to physical and emotional wellbeing. Games can be done in a schoolyard, in a nearby field or meadow. The creative and writing activities can be done outside by bringing out clipboards, writing and colouring materials, and setting everyone up at a sit spot or outdoor classroom. Individual floor cushions are great to allow students to sit comfortably and create a classroom anywhere.
