What is Official Languages Day?

Official Languages Day is a day to promote Canada’s official languages and celebrate our country’s rich linguistic heritage. It is held the second Thursday of September.

This September 12th, we invite you to proudly celebrate official languages day, and our unique status as Canada’s only officially bilingual province!

Resources available

There are various ways to celebrate official language day, educators can host concerts, organize workshops on the history of official languages, invite francophones to share their experiences and culture, and more.

Discover learning activities, resources and ideas to help you celebrate on the Linguistic Duality official website –  Celebrate Linguistic Duality Day!

Happy Official Languages Day!
