Areas of interest: French Second Language

The Board of Directors for Canadian Parents for French in New Brunswick, invites all school districts to participate in an annual concours d’art oratoire (public speaking competition). They hope to work with schools and families to ensure that as many students as possible participate and that it is a fun and postive experience for all students. The objective of the Concours d’art oratoire is to encourage English-speaking students to continue studying French, and to promote the use of French beyond the classroom. Public speaking events at all levels give students an opportunity to interact in French with other students, teachers, and officials in a setting other than school. This interaction helps reinforce the notion that learning a language is more than an academic exercise, but rather a vehicle for communicating ideas.

Canadian Parents for French is pleased to announce the 15 winners of the 2023 national finals of Concours d’art oratoire and share their winning videos with you!

This year, the provincial finals will be held in person at Jeanne-de-Valois Pavilion, Université de Moncton Campus on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
