The YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange (SWSE) is a six-week program that offers youth ages 16-17 the opportunity to gain paid work experience, practise their second official language skills, and discover another community within Canada.

  • Travel to an area of Canada where your second official language is spoken
  • Work full-time in a community-based organization
  • Stay with a host family
  • Participate in program activities
  • Become acquainted with your new community
  • Make new friends and have fun

 The program strives to be accessible and support youth of diverse cultures and beliefs, income levels, skills and interests.

***Upon completion of this program, students may apply to their school administration or guidance department to obtain a school credit (Techniques de communication orale 110 or 120***
