Overview
The SchoolAI PLC Playground is designed for K–12 educators across New Brunswick to explore, experiment with, and reflect on ways generative AI can enhance teaching and learning.
Over 6 weeks, participants will:

Gain hands-on experience using SchoolAI in authentic classroom contexts.

Access curated training and peer support.

Complete short, structured challenges to build confidence and skills.

Provide valuable feedback through pre- and post-surveys to inform EECD’s ongoing digital innovation strategy.
What is SchoolAI?
SchoolAI is a generative AI education tool to enhance teaching and learning. Free to all New Brunswick educators with NBED login credentials, the platform can be used in multiple ways:
- Create custom bots for students (virtual homework help, simulations, though partners, etc)
- Develop educational materials (rubrics, lesson plans, work problems, course outlines
- Virtual assistants for quick advice (AI literacy, digital skills, event planning)
- Engage in training and professional development
How to Participate:

- Complete this pre-assessment survey about your use of AI: https://forms.office.com/r/bYt4PC5aZe
- Attend the kickoff webinar introducing SchoolAI, challenges, and classroom use cases on November 6 at 3:45 PM.
- Complete challenges between November 3rd and Dec. 12th
- Complete Level 1 certified educator in the SchoolAI community tab and highlight for the PLC what aspect of the training you gained the most from.
- Generate a lesson resource (lesson plan, rubric, word problem, etc). Put a question out to the PLC that you’d like answered around using SchoolAI when developing classroom materials.
- Use SchoolAI to make a bellringer, exit ticket or career exploration chatbot for your students. Share how the insights from the space could be used to enhance achievement.
- Enhance an existing resource to accomodate or differentiate for a learner’s need. Share the result with the PLC and any reflections on how it was used/created.
- Final Challenge: Create a custom space for your class. The space must be prompted in a way that allows it to differentiate for learner needs, align with curriculum, and have an attached rubric. The space, or variations of it, should be used multiple times over 1-2 weeks. Add the space in SchoolAI “Organize” tab to the SchoolAI Challenge collection.
- Complete a post-assessment survey.
PLC Engagement:
Throughout the 6 weeks, teachers should:
- Join the Teams site/Group Chat for the event (to be sent out after registrations open)
- Complete relevant surveys (pre and post event)
- Comment on at least 2 other participants’ posts (feedback, encouragement, or answering their PLC question
- Share at least 1 reflection on the week’s challenge and how their own teaching practice might evolve with AI.
