The Centre of Excellence for Energy is excited to announce that there is a new live event for Grades 3-5! Join us during Nuclear Science Week! Details are below!

Wednesday, Oct. 23rd at 9:00 – 9:45am – Grades 3-5 LIVE Session is What is Nuclear Power? Our session will start with a live read aloud of “Nuclear Power: How a Nuclear Power Plant Really Works” by Amelia Fahm and Andrew Handley. This will be following by a lesson and activity on atoms and how they can be used to power our homes. Finally, learners and educators will hear from an expert at Point Leapreu Nuclear Generating Station! Only 100 spots are available for classes, click here to reserve your spot today!

Holistic Curriculum Connection: Science – Strand: Learning & Living Sustainably – Big Idea: Responsible and Sustainable Application

Successful registrations will be mailed a class kit that will be sent out the first week of October and will include:

  • Agenda
  • A classroom copy of Nuclear Power: How a Nuclear Power Plant Really Works” by Amelia Fahm and Andrew Handley
  • Printed Atom Building activity sheets for all of your students
  • A Nuclear Science Week Banner to display all of the built atoms
