Spring is bursting with opportunities for hands-on exploration! Outdoor environments inspire curiosity, encourage physical activity, and foster a deeper connection with nature—all while providing a rich backdrop for language learning. Imagine your students engaging in immersive conversations en français as they explore the great outdoors! From naming local flora and fauna to describing the sights and sounds around them, every moment becomes an opportunity to practice and reinforce language skills in a natural, authentic context.

Share Your Ideas and Win! Share your innovative strategies, activities and experiences of integrating French language learning into outdoor learning activities with us and you will have the chance to win a Centre of Excellence outdoor language learning prize pack! There is one pack available for each learning block (primary, elementary, middle and secondary)!
To participate: E-mail the Centre of Excellence for language learning lead Ginny Steeves – ginny.steeves@gnb, with a brief description of your outdoor French language learning activity (can include multimedia – photos, videos, slide deck, websites…). Be sure to include your school, grade level, program and number of learners involved in the e-mail!
