Has anything online ever made you think, “Wait… what?” Canada’s 20th annual Media Literacy Week, from October 27-31, is here to answer your questions about being online in changing times. The COE-DI is thrilled to partner with MediaSmarts, Canada’s leading centre for digital media literacy, on Media Literacy Week 2025!
Join us! On Oct. 28th, we will be hosting sessions on how to Break the Fake for grades 3-5 (9 am) and grade 6-8 (11 am). Students will learn strategies for recognizing online misinformation, verifying what they see, and the impact it has on our world.
All participants will receive a toolkit of activities to complete over the week. Topics covered in the toolkit include:
- algorithms
- artificial intelligence
- digital citizenship
- critical thinking
- media making
- media representation.
Don’t miss this opportunity to enrich your teaching toolkit with media literacy strategies and activities.
