Girls stem up
We are proud to present a series of conferences dedicated to increasing engagement and respect for women in STEM fields. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are disciplines that are fueled by exploration and ambition. Year after year, we see that women are continually underrepresented in these fields. It is our aim to spark conversations about the adversities preventing women from pursuing these careers. Our conferences bring innovation to the forefront, foster networking opportunities and present an encouraging forum for delegates and speakers to share their experiences as women in STEM.
Girls STEM Up was inspired by young, female students who found themselves grappling with gender inequality in their respective degrees and felt compelled to contribute toward a change. We are strong advocates for the inclusion and promotion of women in STEM fields in our daily lives, which led to the establishment of this conference. We aim to make a meaningful impact on girls’ careers through strengthening existing partnerships for women in STEM and introducing new ones. We embrace this challenge.
Girls STEM Up brings students and allies together, across Atlantic Canada, to engage in conversation and share diverse views on leadership and female empowerment within STEM. We look forward to making a meaningful difference and invite all who share our goals to join us as we embark upon this exciting endeavor.
