You’ve likely heard about the “health care team” before, but who does this include?
The short answer is – it depends! Most people are likely familiar with the roles of doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists in the health care setting, but depending on the health concern there can be dozens of other professionals directly or indirectly involved in getting a person back on their feet.
While doctors or nurses can often be main points of contact in hospital or in the community, many other professions provide services in both settings to address specific concerns.
During this session, Alex Jordan and Alyssa Dickinson will explore roles and responsibilities of various health care professions, including those of speech language pathologists, medical laboratory technicians, respiratory therapists, cardiology technicians, and social workers. A variety of young professional’s who work in health care in New Brunswick including medical students from Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick will share their experience and insights into the process of pursuing a career in health care.
The session will highlight the variety of professions in health care that may suit student’s skills or interests as they explore future career opportunities!
Please join the COE Health, Alex Jordan, and Alyssa Dickinson for a recorded presentation.
