Areas of interest: Explore Your World, Personal Wellness

Overview

In this 30-minute session, learners and educators will explore the power of mindfulness and breathing through simple, engaging activities they can use anytime and anywhere. Learners will practice grounding, balloon belly breathing, volcano breathing, five-finger star breathing, and other calming techniques to help manage emotions, improve focus, and promote relaxation.

Learners will also learn how to practice mindfulness using their five senses—sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. These activities encourage students to slow down, notice the world around them, and be present in the moment without judgment.

Mindfulness Challenge: Over the next two months, students are encouraged to practice noticing and using their senses throughout their day.
