Join Dr. Joanne Savoie as she explores careers in psychology with a special focus on how psychology can help people who have difficulties related to brain functioning. The world of neuropsychology is a fascinating subspecialty of psychology that explores the relationship between the brain and behavior. Neuropsychologists can play a role in managing concussions, assessing for ADHD and learning disabilities, and helping people get back to work after a stroke, to name just a few examples.
Dr. Joanne Savoie is a neuropsychologist at the Stan Cassidy Center for Rehabilitation in Fredericton. She helps people who have had neurological illnesses and injuries get back to living as independently as possible. She also does research to understand what works best for patients and she mentors students in becoming professional psychologists.
Dr. Savoie studied at the Universities of Ottawa and Harvard to become a neuropsychologist.
