Trees are awesome!
Join Andy Tree (yes that’s his real name) in a recorded session for a brief introduction to what makes our trees so awesome, how we manage our trees and forests, and how trees store carbon.
Topics will be accessible for an elementary school audience, but applicable for K-12. This presentation is approximately 45 minutes in length.
Topics included in the session are listed below.
- What is a tree? (Looking at a tree’s life cycle, age, species we find around us)
- What do our trees do for us? (Ecosystem services, non-timber forest products, forest products)
- What do we do for our trees? (A brief look into the jobs of foresters, technicians, ecologists, other careers)
- How many trees do we have?
- Take-away activity – An introduction to forest carbon with our Carbon Storage Ruler
Andy Tree is Forest NB’s Communications and Marketing Manager and is passionate about creative communication of complex topics and sharing the story of Canadian Forestry.
