Therapy in the form of recreation therapy helps people rebuild their skills, improve their mood, enhance their quality of life and strengthen/develop positive social connections with others creating a positive impact on the person’s overall health and well-being.

About the Horizon Health Presenters:

Tracy McGrath is the Regional Clinical Leader for Recreation Therapy; Therapeutic Services at Horizon Health Network and she will review and explain the role of recreation therapy.  

Chelsea Crockford is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) at the Stan Cassidy Center for Rehabilitation in Fredericton. Chelsea helps adults who have had neurological illnesses and injuries return to their best quality of life using leisure and recreation.  Chelsea studied at Concordia University to become a Recreation Therapist. She is also an advocate for the profession on her Facebook and Instagram account Connect Through Leisure (@connect.through.leisure).
