Overview
NBCC and COE Health are celebrating Allied Health month during November!!
Who are Allied Health Professionals?
Allied Health Professionals are people who work in health care but are not doctors or nurses. They help patients stay healthy, recover from illness, and live their best lives. This group includes a wide range of jobs such as:
- Respiratory Therapists – help people who have trouble breathing.
- Opticians – fit and adjust glasses and contact lenses so people can see clearly.
- Personal Support Workers (PSWs) – help individuals with daily activities like eating, bathing, and moving safely.
- Social Care Workers – support people’s mental health, social well-being, and community needs.
- Medical Lab Assistant/Medical Lab Tech, Pharmacy Assistant/Pharmacy Tech, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and many more!
Allied Health Professionals form a healthcare and social care team that keeps communities healthy, strong, and supported!
