The COE Heath and the New Brunswick Health Council were very excited to review the Student Wellness Surveys with the students, teachers and parents in NB during a Virtual class that was offered in both English and French.
What do we know about NB students’ wellness? The New Brunswick Health Council asked students in grades 6 to 12 to share their experiences through the NB Student Wellness Survey.
The New Brunswick Student Wellness Survey is a joint initiative of the New Brunswick Health Council and the Government of New Brunswick’s Department of Health and Department of Education & Early Childhood Development. It is conducted in all public schools across New Brunswick and aims to evaluate several aspects of students’ wellness, including their social and emotional development, physical health, substance use, and experiences at school and in the community.
The Following questions will be answered during the recorded session.
- How much sleep do students get per night?
- How much screen time do they have, and how much of it is spent on social media?
- At what age do students have their first alcoholic drink?
- What is the proportion of students experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression?
- Answers to these questions and more in our November 2 LIVE class.
Please see the French and English NB Wellness Survey facts sheets below. Feel free to post in your schools and offices as well.
