Aperçu
Manie musicale est une compétition annuelle créée par des enseignants pour promouvoir les l’appréciation et les identités culturelles francophones. Les étudiants apprennent des artistes musicaux et écoutent leurs chansons avant de voter pour leurs préférés. Les choix de chansons, les tranches, les vidéos et d’autres ressources pertinentes sont fournis par une équipe d’enseignants. Un espace collaboratif et le mentorat pour les enseignants est également disponible pour les participants inscrits.
Overview
Manie Musicale is an annual competition created by teachers to promote French cultural identities and appreciation. Students learn about musical artists and listening to their songs before voting for their favourites. Song choices, brackets, videos and other related resources are provided by a team of teachers. A collaborative space and mentorship for teachers is also available for registered participants.

- School representative (one teacher per school to register and pass along information)
- Computer, projector, smartboard
- Access to google drive (may need to be outside of school)

Instructions
- Review Manie Musicale website and watch “How it all works” video: MANIE MUSICALE – How it all works
- Register (one teacher per school): MANIE MUSICALE – How to sign up
- Listen to songs and watch the videos: the playlist is released by early February and is available on all the major platforms. A mash-up video, artist biography slides and bracket are all released with the playlist. Check here!
- Plan classroom routine and activities: choose activities you want to do with students. Start slowly to build familiarity. There are an overwhelming number of options. Suggestions are provided in the attachments. Check out the COE Learning Activity ManieMusicale Feb 2026 guide
- Vote: all students are invited to vote during the competition. The dates for voting are adjusted each year. Check dates: MANIE MUSICALE – VOTING PAGE
- Show results: this is when you’ll start to see the most buy-in from students. The results videos are released the day after voting closes and created with high suspense.
- Plan a celebration: whether for one class or the whole school, a celebration builds community!
